The short version

The grown-up has an account. The child does not. We never ask for a child's real name, birthday, address, email, phone number, photo or voice recording — there is no field in this app to enter any of them.

What we collect about the grown-up

  • Email address, used to sign in and for account notices.
  • An optional display name.
  • Subscription status and billing identifiers from our payment processor. We never see or store your card number.

What we collect about the child

  • A nickname you choose and an emoji. It can be "Bug" or "A" — it does not need to be their name.
  • An age band (3–4, 5–6, 7+). Not a birthday. Used to pick the right difficulty.
  • Learning activity: which skill and item was practised, whether the answer was right, roughly how long it took, and whether a hint was used.

This is tied to a random identifier, not to a person. Two children in the same family are separate identifiers.

What we never collect

  • A child's real name, birthday, address, email or phone number.
  • Photos or video of a child. The Color Hunt camera game analyses the picture in the browser on your device and uploads nothing.
  • Voice recordings. When your child speaks an answer, the clip is transcribed and immediately discarded — it is never stored or attached to them.
  • Precise location.
  • Advertising identifiers. There are no ads and no ad networks in this app.

Why we collect learning activity

To teach better. Knowing that a child keeps missing the letter S, or that three-letter words take twice as long as two-letter words, is how the app decides what to show next and when to make things harder. In aggregate — across all children, with no way to identify anyone — it also tells us which lessons are too easy, too hard, or badly worded, so we can fix them.

Children's privacy (COPPA)

ELAARIA is directed to children under 13. We rely on parental consent, given by the account holder at sign-up, and we collect only the limited information described above. We do not condition a child's participation on disclosing more than is reasonably necessary. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

As the parent you can review, export or delete everything we hold about your child at any time from the Account screen, or by emailing us. Deleting a player removes their rows immediately.

Who we share data with

Only the service providers needed to run the app: our hosting and database provider, our payment processor, and the speech and language services that turn text into character voices. Those services process data on our instructions and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

Keeping it

Learning activity is kept while the account is open so progress charts work over time, and deleted when you delete the player or the account. Deleting your account removes all associated rows.
